On connaît la chanson
By Alain Resnais

Sunday 21 June
Denzille Cinema - 5.30pm

On connaît la chanson (Same Old Song) is a 1997 French movie directed by Alain Resnais (Hiroshima mon amour, Mon oncle d'Amérique) and  written  by  Agnès

Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri (The Taste of Others, Un air de famille, Look at Me). Jaoui and Bacri also starred in the film with Jane Birkin, Lambert Wilson, André Dussolier and Pierre Arditi.
The most original feature of this "musical" is that characters break into famous songs as sung by the original artists. The judicious choice of songs and variety of styles make for some very funny surprises, considering the complete and voluntary absence of transitions between the talking and singing.
The movie won the César Award (French Oscars) for Best Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Writing, Best Editing and Best Sound in 1998. It won the prestigious Louis Delluc Prize.
